An honest journey into trust, provision, and resting in His finished work
God is teaching me how to enter His rest.
I can’t say I fully grasp it yet, but my heart is leaning in. I want to understand it. I want to live it. And I want to share the process with you—because this call to rest feels deep and sacred. It’s a topic I believe is dear to God’s heart, and perhaps it’s the beginning of a new writing series here on Uhai Path.
Martha, Mary, and the Way of Rest
I’m reminded of the story in Luke 10 where Martha busied herself preparing for Jesus, while Mary simply sat at His feet, listening. Martha was frustrated. From a cultural perspective, her frustration makes sense—where I come from, women are expected to serve and host, while the men sit and converse. But Jesus said something unexpected:
“Mary has chosen the best part.”
Mary chose rest. She chose presence over performance.
What the Bible Says About Rest
Hebrews 3 and 4 speak powerfully about entering God’s rest. And surprisingly, not entering that rest is described as disobedience.
“God was grieved with them for forty years, and they never entered into the calming rest of His Spirit because of their unbelief.”
(Hebrews 3:17–19 TPT)
This is speaking to me in a very personal way. I’ve been praying for financial abundance, even while God has been so faithful in providing. We’re not lacking, and He’s been with us even in the most difficult seasons. Yet I still catch myself doubting.
When You Struggle to Trust God
In one of my recent journaling moments with the Lord, He said something tender but convicting:
“I never drop the important balls.”
He also revealed that I struggle to fully trust Him—especially in the areas of finances, provision, and purpose. I’m not proud of this realization, but I’m sharing it because I know I’m not alone.
God is calling us to search our hearts.
“Search your hearts every day, fellow believers, and make sure that none of you has evil or unbelief hiding within you. For it will lead you astray.”
(Hebrews 3:12 TPT)
Unbelief hides quietly, but its effects are loud. In verse 19, we read that the Israelites could not enter their inheritance because their hearts were wrapped in unbelief.
Confess It. Uproot It.

Do you sense unbelief in your heart?
If so, confess it openly to the Lord.
Here’s what I said:
“Lord, I have unbelief in my heart. I’m afraid You won’t bless me financially or materially. I submit this unbelief to You. Please uproot it from the deepest place. I want to be like Mary, resting carefree at Your feet.”
Ask Him to reveal the root. For me, it came from a wound—when we lost all income and lived through a season of total dependence on God. He sent us “ravens” like He did for Elijah, and we never lacked. But that experience left a scar, and God is still healing it.
He reminds me that while income may not look abundant, the fruit He’s producing in us—trust, peace, surrender, faith—is priceless.
Let Him Heal You
Invite God to apply the balm of Gilead to your wounds.
When the root is healed, the fruit will change.
Ask Him to replace fear and striving with rest and peace.
Let Him plant new seeds: joy, hope, love, security, confidence.
Entering His Rest

“For those of us who believe, faith activates the promise, and we experience the realm of confident rest! … God’s works have all been completed from the foundation of the world.”
(Hebrews 4:3 TPT)
We are called to rest because God Himself rested. When we enter His rest, we cease from our own striving and start walking in alignment with His finished work.
It sounds so simple—but it goes against every fleshly instinct. My mind is struggling with the idea even now. But I know this is the way forward. And I know He will teach us.
A Prayer for Rest
Lord, teach us how to enter into Your rest.
We repent for striving, for trying to do things in our own strength.
Show us where we are not resting in You.
Heal every wound that is fueling our unbelief.
Let the fruit of peace, trust, joy, and confidence grow deep in us.
Teach us to operate from rest—in our thoughts, our homes, our work, our purpose, and our waiting.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Let’s Walk This Journey Together
If you feel the nudge to go deeper into this, I invite you to start journaling. Ask God to show you where unbelief might be hiding. Let Him speak into your past and bring healing to your heart. You don’t have to walk this road alone—I’m learning too.
Together, we’ll discover the beauty and power of resting in God.
